Hey there, we are Bryci and Matt, hailing from Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA. A state with more antelope than people and where the largest city has about 50,000 residents.
Matt and I met on the shores of a lake over the Fourth of July when I stumbled into his tent thinking it was mine, knocking part of it down and nearly catching it on fire. Hey, it was dark. Shortly after we had our first date at a Six Flags where Matt nearly tossed his cookies and probably our future with a nasty case of motion sickness. Fortunately, he heroically maintained his composure and we’ve been together ever since. We haven’t traveled out of the country extensively, just to Belize, Italy and Ireland as a couple and to a handful of countries individually.
Matt is really good at a lot of things, he’s an IT guy, he built our kitchen table, he can mountain bike anything, he wakeboards, snowboards and rides motocross. Matt can pack our camp up in the back country in the time it takes me to stumble out of my sleeping bag over to my coffee mug. He can chat with anyone and tell the difference between 17 IPA’s but he always loses at board games and yoga (yes, you can lose at yoga).
If you’re supposed to marry your other half, the person who fills in the gaps and is what you aren’t, well then Matt definitely did that. I have an innate ability to destroy technology and I’m not athletic, I can barely run in consistent rhythm. I’ve been snowboarding and wakeboarding since I was 6 and am just getting to the point where I feel comfortable pretending I just learned last summer rather than claiming I am just learning this summer. But I am a great cook, love all artistic endeavors, dominate board games like a boss and best of all I’m pretty stubborn. Trust me this comes in handy when you’re trying to learn to snowboard or ride a dirt bike or walk and you’ve fallen for the 400th time. I also have a knack for thinking up crazy ideas, like the time I thought we should get our SCUBA certification and go diving in the Blue Hole in Belize our 2nd day. It was awesome, I mean in the end. Every problem solver needs a problem maker in his life right?
So while Matt brings the steadiness, the normalcy and the actual ability to the relationship I brought an idea and a pig, literally I have a pet pig who lives with my parents. His name is Puck and he’s way smarter than our Labrador, Sprocket. I also bring the writing I do the documenting of our travels alongside Matt’s photos.
Here’s a quick look at all the places we have been! This map will always be a work in progress no matter how many places we have been.
